Welcome to Our School – A Message from the Director
Richmond House is a private English-medium nursery and preschool in Goodlands, Mauritius, welcoming children aged 14 weeks to 5 years. Our purpose-built two-storey building places the nursery upstairs and preschool downstairs, creating age-appropriate spaces for growth and learning.
We offer two spacious play areas, fully equipped kitchens, and a wide range of educational resources, ensuring a safe, stimulating environment. Beyond academics, we nurture confidence, compassion, and essential life skills, guided by our dedicated staff carefully selected by Hakeem and Julie. Ongoing training and mentoring ensure our team embodies our ethos of being a "second home" for children.
Richmond House follows the Mauritian curriculum enriched with UK and Australian approaches. Our leadership team brings over 15 years of combined experience: Director Mr. Hakeem Peerbux, originally from England, and Operations Manager Mrs. Julie Benoit, trained in Australia, both bring international expertise.
In under three years, we've grown from 50 to 100 places, now at full capacity with a waitlist — a testament to community trust. Looking ahead, we plan to expand in northern Mauritius, offering high-quality childcare at accessible prices.

Our Classes
At Richmond House, we offer a variety of services for children aged 14 weeks to 5 years, including creche, nursery, 3- to 5-year-old preschool, half-day and full-day childcare, as well as holiday club sessions.
Creche: Little Smurf Cubs
"Our Little Smurf Cubs class offers a warm, secure, and engaging space for babies to thrive. Through gentle play, sensory exploration, and individualized care, our youngest learners begin developing early social, motor, and communication skills while feeling safe, cherished, and supported."
Young Nursery: Mickey's Clubhouse Cubs
In the Mickey's Clubhouse Cubs room and Jungle Explorers, little adventurers dive into themed, nature-inspired activities that spark creativity, curiosity, and early cognitive growth. Through sensory play, hands-on exploration, and group experiences, children develop social, cognitive, and physical skills in a fun, supportive environment.
Nursery: Cloud Koalas
The Cloud Koalas room provides a fun and engaging environment for toddlers to explore the wonders of the sky, clouds, and imagination. Through sensory play, creative activities, and interactive games, children develop early social, motor, and cognitive skills while learning about teamwork, curiosity, and discovery.
PPS: Little Explorers
In Little Explorers, children embark on exciting learning adventures that spark imagination and discovery. With interactive games, creative projects, and problem-solving activities, preschoolers build confidence, teamwork, and essential early learning skills in a joyful and nurturing environment.
PPS: Forest Friends
In Forest Friends, children immerse themselves in nature-inspired learning adventures that encourage curiosity, creativity, and independent thinking. Through hands-on activities, group projects, and imaginative play, preschoolers develop social, cognitive, and problem-solving skills while exploring the world around them.
Creche

At Richmond House, the teachers are caring, supportive, and truly dedicated to the children. The manager is also very professional and ensures everything runs smoothly. My son attended Richmond House Pre-Primary School for two wonderful years (2024 & 2025), and I couldn't be more grateful for the experience he had there. The staff are incredibly kind, gentle, and polite. From the very beginning, they took the time to truly understand my child - his personality, his needs, and what makes him happy. It was clear that they genuinely cared for him, not just as a pupil, but as an individual. He absolutely adored his teachers, Miss Rishta, Miss Tina, and all the other Miss. They were always warm, attentive, and happy to engage with him. They embraced his personality and made him feel heard and valued every single day. The management team incl. Miss Julie and Mr Peerbux, are wonderful with children. Their presence, care, and interaction with the students truly reflect the nurturing and positive environment of the school. Richmond House felt like a second home for him. Even now that he has moved on to primary school, he still says that Richmond House is the best school. As a parent, there is nothing more reassuring than knowing your child felt safe, loved, and happy during those important early years. I wholeheartedly recommend Richmond House to any parent looking for a caring and supportive pre-primary school.

We absolutely love this nursery for our baby! One of the first things that impressed us is how incredibly clean and well-kept the place is — and that's such an important factor when choosing a nursery. The management really goes above and beyond to make everyday life smooth, welcoming, and fun. You can feel how much thought they put into creating a positive environment. The team taking care of the little ones is incredibly warm — it truly feels like an extension of our family. Our baby is so happy there and clearly loved by everyone. Highly recommended!

The staff is professional, kind, skilled and really care about the children. Each educator knows both of my kids, even though they are not in their rooms, this shows their dedication to care and the homely welcoming environment that has been created here. The management also is very good at communication and are quick to respond when you have any questions or needs and any special request is also taken care of.

Richmond House is a stress free preschool and nursery for babies and toddlers. As parent all we want is the good care, healthy environment, cleanliness, developmental milestone for our kid. Richmond House has it all for the little ones. My experience as parent is very satisfying and they are even very attentive to what you have to say. It's a very secure and safe environment for little ones. The ongoing activities they do really give little ones an intelligent way of growing. Thank you Richmond House!
